CHDF-2000 - High Resolution Particle Size Distributions

Capillary Hydrodynamic Fractionation

Many commonly used particle size measurement techniques provide only "approximations" of the true particle size distribution. Yet often the particle size distribution itself is more important than the average particle size. The ideal sizing method would combine speed and ease of use with the ability to measure not only the average particle size, but also the detailed particle size distribution. Only the CHDF2000 has a powerful fractionation-based sizing method, capable of measuring the most complex, multimodal size distributions in under 10 minutes - completely independent of particle density - in a simple, easy-to-use hardware platform.

THE CHDF2000 OFFERS THE FOLLOWING FEATURES:

High-resolution particle size measurement; particle size populations differing by 10% can be detected and quantified

True particle size distributions are measured - No assumptions are needed regarding the shape of the particle size distribution

Results are independent of particle Density

Simple operation

Analysis time is under ten minutes, regardless of the nature of the sample

Disposable fractionation capillary

Temperature control

Eluant pH, conductivity, and temperature monitoring

Automated sample analysis

Windows software optimized for QC operation

The CHDF2000 can measure particle size distributions with very high resolution because the particles are physically fractionated according to size before detection by the patented Capillary Hydrodynamic Fractionation (CHDF) technique. The CHDF2000 combines the proven CHDF technique with powerful Windows operating software and an advanced hardware platform -- equivalent to modern HPLC systems -- into a rapid, efficient, and reliable particle size analyzer. The Windows software makes the CHDF2000 easy to use, the new hardware platform optimizes the reproducibility and reliability, and the CHDF method provides the greatest combination of speed and resolution of any particle sizing technique. The CHDF2000 can even be used with an external autosampler for automated analysis of over 100 samples.

The CHDF2000 can:

  • Measure complex, multimodal particle size distributions in the size range of 0.010 - 3 microns
  • Determine detailed particle size distributions in under 10 minutes, regardless of the complexity of the particle size distributions and sample density
  • Operate 24 hours per day using an autosampler
  • Give you what you've been missing in your particle size measurements!
