About Crystal Biotech

Crystal Biotech is a leading provider of hemodynamic equipment, including pulsed Doppler blood flow meters, sonomicrometers for monitoring vessel diameters and cardiac wall thickness, blood pressure amplifiers, ECG and heart rate, and single crystal wall thickening. We provide the highest quality probes for monitoring flows from vessels as small as 0.5mm diameter up to 25mm diameter. There are two types of blood flow probes, a soft silastic cuff or a hard epoxy cuff. The hard cuff can be secured around the vessel with suture or umbilical tape. The frequency of the probe must match the module type it is being used with. We provide 10MHz and 20 MHz probes. The sonomicrometry crystals can be 5, 10 or 20MHz. Also included in our product line are the single crystal used for monitoring wall thickening. These are secured directly to the epicardial surface using either a cloverleaf or a Dacron patch.

Crystal Biotech also offers the CBI 8000 modular system, which can be customized for specific research work done in a lab. This equipment is designed for use in laboratory animals. However, we do have a 20MHz pulse Doppler blood flow meter that has been used in free flap surgeries and CABG's for several years. This Model 200 is provided with a hand held pencil-like probe or a simple crystal for monitoring venous return. It has been helpful in transcranial Doppler studies.
